TRAILER PARK

One of my favorite things is a good movie trailer. That's not to say a trailer for a GOOD movie. Just a trailer that is interesting, and makes me want to see the movie- at least until I think about it, and realize it's probably not going to ACTUALLY be any good at all.

So, I find myself looking at the trailers on HULU on a fairly regular basis. They don't always have the newest blockbuster up as quickly as some other sites, but they'll have some you're unlikely to see elsewhere. Here are a few picked pretty much at random-

I've been looking forward to DESPICABLE ME- first, I love the title; second, I love the idea of a movie about a "super-villain"; and third, I love Steve Carrell. BUT- I'm not so happy about the 'and now he has three kids to take care of!" thing that they've revealed in this newest preview. It seems a little- cliche, y'know? But I'll still see it. And I like the little blobby henchmen.

Yeah, I'm already a little teary. On the other hand, let's hope fathers don't get a short shrift in this. But I really loved Annette Benning's really awkward "pick-up" of Jimmy Smits.

Now give this one a minute before you stop watching it- it will surprise you.

See, I told you. Now, I'll probably never see this movie- certainly not in a theater. And it's probably not really as funny or charming as I want it to be (the moment when the shooting happens and they run across the screen looks awkward). but I still want to see this.

Now, I should want to see this, and I suppose I do. But it's so obviously NOT the story of von Richtofen- and I base that only on "based on true events". What the hell does that mean- there was a First World War, and a German pilot named von Richtofen? I am intrigued by the stars of David on the side of some of the planes, though- there could be an interesting story there. And, well, the cast ain't exactly chopped liver.

One more for the road-

Truly, the end times are here.

That's it! Let me know what you think, and remember-

HAVE FUN!
